Our company has a long-term involvement with strata titled and retirement village complexes, which dates back to 1977. We service one of the largest strata titled and retirement village asset reporting portfolios in Australia.
To date our company has prepared reports on more than 14,000 strata titled buildings around Australia including Central Park (Sydney), Q1 (Surfers Paradise), Dockside (Brisbane), Yarra's Edge (Melbourne) and Observation Rise (Perth). We have provided more than 34,000 individual reports to strata owners.
We are proud to have been the company that introduced the concept of professional sinking fund forecasts to the strata title industry in Australia (with Body Corporate Services in Queensland in 1990). Indeed, we are the people who coined the term “sinking fund forecast”, which is still the official term used to describe this service in many states.
Whether they are officially called a sinking fund forecast, maintenance plan, capital works fund plan, the sinking fund forecasts produced today still follow the same basic concept we introduced all those years ago. Most still even use the same basic terms and layout.
Starting in 1989 we were one of the first quantity surveying companies to offer a specialist taxation depreciation report service to general investment property owners. At that time even tax agents and accountants were often unaware that individual house and unit owners might be able to claim depreciation. The in-house tax research and information systems we established then are still a feature of our service.
We are heavily involved with computer technology. In 1985 we were the first company to develop a professional estimating package (Fastrak), for Apple computers – later adapted for Windows and used by leading professional firms and contractors Australia wide. We continue to use this programming expertise to serve the needs of our clients.
We provide professional advice about the practical application of strata title legislation at industry seminars and policy forums and have been a member of state government drafting consultation groups for several reviews of strata legislation.
To enable us to keep in touch with current developments within the industry, we maintain corporate and individual membership of Strata Community Australia in several states. Company directors and associates are members of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors as well as the Unit Owners Association of Queensland and Australian Institute of Management.
